One login, two separate environments — test everything before it touches real money
Every merchant account has two environments. They share your login and your configuration screens, but nothing else: sandbox writes to its own isolated database, so nothing you do there can reach live volumes, statistics, payouts or invoices.
This applies whichever API version you integrate — and to merchants with no integration at all.
